    Help us improve the search formula!

    Dear xHamster family,

    As we plan for the new features on the website, we always like to reach out to you to gather more thoughts.

    Today we are happy to share a new video search engine with the improved search results formula.

    From now on all the search results will include two additional factors, such as a relevance to the query and video quality.

    We`ve also adjusted the search field for the channels of your favourite pornstars and studios.

    Your social preferences have also been taken into consideration, so all the likes / dislikes, comments and save-to-favourites features are added to a new formula.



    It`s important for us to understand more about what`s relevant to you when it comes about search.

    Please share your input in the comments field below. Do you see any issues in the current search filter? Are there ways we could improve it?

    a iampower : I agree with this search result filter. Especially to block interracial and incest categories which are sickening to most people, maybe add a ”no miscegenation or kykes only advocate for intermixing and foul shit” option?

    a lynxxHamster : Re: search based on tagging. Hopefully, this means members can enter/insert a tag when the default tags are insufficient for accuracy.  Currently, the default tags currently offered are limited and requires a "next best" guess.

    I just browsed the categories. I diddnt previously realize that there is a "view all" button under every letter. OOOOMMMGGG!! Are you people well? Whats the point in having a category "Oxford" that contains about 20 videos, all of them having "oxford" in the title, when you can just use the search engine and search for Oxford.

    The categorization is a mess. For example when i browse MATURE category I get videos about sons, stepsons and mothers or stepmothers which is not what I was looking for. I dont want to see incest themed videos when I'm looking for MATURE videos. There are so many categories (including "mom"), which is great but videos are not categorized properly.
    Lesbian sex is not "straight sex". If i want to see some ordinary man-woman sex and click "straight" i also get all of the lesbian videos which i don't want to see. There is no "straight" category.
    And what happens. I just clicked on category "Matures" and the first video is "Busty mom seduces his cute girl" - a lesbian video. Some 10 videos down the list, there is a video with a pregnant woman. Scrolling further down there is a video called "Mom" with a young guy and an older woman.

    People must be constantly seeing stuff they didnt intend to search for may even not want to see.

    There are also tons of meaningless categories such as "Sexy naked". It must be difficult for uploaders to categorize the video properly.

    This is what I want: No censorship, more foot fetish stuff, more feedback, keep non porn images, more vintage porn.

    ImageFap's interface sucks, but their search filters are the best in the industry, letting you narrow down to the content combinations that you want, possibly because they *only* have images and a scattershot search function would seriously impact their usability. PLEASE improve this.

    Will you please allow more than one category filter at a time? For example mature+brunette.  At least you improved the search so that putting two criteria doesn't *increase* the number of hits ("hairy" with mature and brunette categories checked would bring all the "hairy" sets with mature OR brunette) but now if two category filters are set they both show at the top of the search results as if they were both active when actually only the *first* category is being filtered.

    It would be a great improvement of the search formula, if one could search by user-names.
    E.g. if a user is retired, you can't go to his profile and check his uploads.
    Often you come across a good vid/image/post of a user, but you can't see his other uploads, because he is retired.
    If it would be possible to search for his uploads by his user name, it would be great.

    The ability, as Buttmunch touched on, to use includer and excluder symbols in search would be greatly helpful.  I really don't want to see all that many videos where people are peeing on each other, so a simple "-" would at least filter out some of those results where you have a content provider who categorizes properly.  It would also help a great deal if video reporting for wrong category actually did something so that searches would return more accurate results.

    when users post images or video it should show up in the list when approved by moderation and not when posted.  i have missed many posts by some of my favorite posters because of the amount of time moderation takes.  i am not complaining about the amount of time moderation takes, it's a necessary evil but it can takes days and the post is long gone down the list of 'news'.

    using quotes and + in searches would be awesome e.g. "mature daddy webcam" would only return mature daddy webcam or +mature +daddy +webcam would only return hits with mature, daddy, and webcam.  other sites do this very well and i have always been a little disappointed that xhamster doesn't.
